We witnessed a lot of good experiences and fun with the farming bit at Mlinza farm Zirobwe. As soon as we reached the farm, the fun started by having a glance of fruits all staged at the entrance which welcomed us and we started eating it. Amongst the fruits we enjoyed pineapples, watermelons, pawpaw’s, yellow bananas, locally grown from this farm.
As we very well know that locally grown fruits offer various benefits that positively impact which include: boosting of our Nutritional values and flavor because of their freshness from the Gardens, eating local fruits encourages a diet that aligns with the season.

As we were discussing these fruits from their farms, we were informed that this farm often uses fewer pesticides and more sustainable growing practices which results in healthier food options compared to mass-produced or imported fruits.
Further we learnt that supporting local agriculture or farming helps preserve unique fruit varieties and biodiversity that might otherwise disappear due to globalized large scale farming practices.
As shown in the Pictures below is an illustration on some kind of fruits enjoyed that day and a video showing a good plantation of pineapples.
It was fun when our eyes witnessed herds of local goats from their grazing area to their homes. Little did we know that a few kilometers from the capital city of Kampala one would have such a good experience. And still on a serious note, on the meals served that day was “Goats meat” prepared in both our local method of preparation, roasted and fried too. See attached video.

Poultry farming was part of the activity witnessed on this day as local chickens were caged and it was as never fun as before. The farm managers on top of serving chicken as on the meal of the day, we witnessed how chicken is locally roasted by doing it ourselves since it was given out to us as illustrated in the photos below.
It was adventurous when we discovered that they were rare African guinea fowl which were double colored one was for both black and another was for white in color. Nice looking interesting Philo global tours and travel is another explorer and enjoyable moment and as well adventurous. So many farms in Uganda do farming but Mlinza farm is unique and it was a great experience in the tourism industry.
Not forgetting it was one of our last meals at Mlinza farm only to find out that they have ponds where they rare fish.
