OVERVIEW
Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest savannah park in Uganda. It is also the nearest park from Kampala, among all national parks in Uganda. It is estimated to occupy about 260 square kilometers, and is approximately 240 km from Kampala.
Lake Mburo National Park has a variety of animals, birds, and trees. Some of the animals include giraffes, zebras, impala, buffalo, hippopotamus, elands and many more. The different activities carried out in Lake Mburo National Park include; game drives, cycling, boat cruise, birding, sport fishing, nature walks and many more.
And Queen Elizabeth National Park is the second largest park in Uganda and located in Western Uganda. It is lying between Lake Edward and Lake George with the Kazinga channel going through.
Queen Elizabeth National Park has two sectors, that is to say the southern sector and the northern sector. The northern sector through a game drive one can have a look at some wildlife like elephants, buffaloes, leopards, pride lions, Uganda kobs and many more. The southern area (Ishasha) has the tree climbing lions. These lions climb in fig and acacia trees as they search for the next hunt. Activities that are done in Queen Elizabeth National Park include, Boat cruise, Game drive, Bird watching, Trekking the tree climbing lions, Cultural experience, Hot air balloon safari and many more.

DAY 1 : Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park.
You will be transferred from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park. You will have a stopover at the equator for pictures. At the equator, you will be briefed about the variations in earth’s magnetic forces in Northern and Southern hemispheres plus and at 0o latitude, which is at the equator. In addition to this briefing, you will perform an empirical experiment to acknowledge the talked about magnetic forces and their action.
Then you will proceed and make another stopover in Masaka for lunch after which you will continue to Lake Mburo National Park. On arrival, you will check in Mihingo Lodge and prepare for a guided cycling which will be your first activity in the park because after a long distance of traveling, you will need to stretch your legs. The cycling activity will take 1-2 hours of your time, and it will give a wholesome moment riding among the zebra and the open savanna of the park. After this activity, you will head back to your hotel room, prepare for dinner then rest.

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
You will have an early breakfast, and after it, you will prepare for your morning game drive where you will have a good look at some of the wildlife in Mburo. These may include; zebras, giraffes, impala, Kobs, buffalo and others. The game drive will last for about 4 – 5 hours and after it, you will drive back to your hotel for lunch and lunchtime refreshments. After your lunch time relaxation, you will embark on your next afternoon activity, which is a boat ride. During this activity, you will have the opportunity to navigate the lake, see different fauna like the crocodile, hippopotamus, birds like the pelican, king fisher and many different species of lakeshore flora. Boat ride will take about 2 – 3 hours of your precious time and after it, you will head back to your hotel room for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Horse riding and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Horse riding in Lake Mburo national Park is one of the most interesting things that makes one to feel part of nature as it draws you close to the most timid animals. For example, while doing horse riding, zebras come closer but they still keep a distance.
After your early morning breakfast, you will go for guided horse riding in Lake Mburo National Park which will be fun and entertaining in the safest routes. This activity will take you 2 -5 hours and after it, you will have lunch and then sign out of Mihingo Lodge and proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kasese where you will check in at Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge, have dinner there and overnight sleep as you relax for next day’s activities.

Day 4: Game drive and Kichwamba Community walk.
Early in the morning, you will have breakfast then head for the morning game drive, for 4 – 5 hours through Queen Elizabeth National Park in the Northern sector where you will have a look at different animals like the elephant, lions, Uganda kobs, buffalo, topi, explore the different flora in the park like the cactus which is almost taking over the biggest part of the park, explore the different and unbelievable ecological niches, patterns and others in the wonderful eco-rich Queen Elizabeth National park. After this jaw-droppingly wonderful experience, you will head back to Ihamba Lakeside Lodge for lunch and refreshments.
After lunch, you will be driven to Kichwamba and have a community walk with the Kichwamba Orphanage foundation as a way of giving back to the community. Through this community walk, you will do activities like watching cultural dances, viewing the twin lakes and also local food preparation and tasting which are very fun activities to do. The Kichwamba community interaction will last for approximately 3 – 4 hours, and after it you shall return to your lodging premises for relaxation, dinner and overnight activities.
You will also enjoy the night fire in the camping area of your lodging premises. This gives you the opportunity to feel the jungle aura, and the vocalizations made by some of the loudest animals that are active during the night like lion roars if you are very lucky, cries of the African Spotted hyenas and many more.

Day 5: Birding and trekking the Tree climbing lions.
In the morning after your breakfast at the hotel, you will go for birding. Queen Elizabeth has a variety of birds which are over 600 species. Through the birding you will see a variety of birds which include African jacana, shoebill, martial eagle and many more. Birding here is best done through a boat ride at the Kazinga channel where numerous species of birds converge. You also shall watch out for other non-aquatic birds during your game drives. The activity on Kazinga channel will take 2 – 3 hours, and you will return for lunch and refreshments as you prepare for the afternoon activity.
After lunch, you will go trekking in the Ishasha sector for the famous tree climbing lions. These lions are found in the trees where they sleep as they wait for the perfect time to go hunt for their next meal. They normally come down the trees at dusk, in the early evening twilight. After this explorative activity, you shall drive back to Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge, have dinner and sleep.

Day 6: Hot air balloon and Departure.
After your early morning’s breakfast, you will sign out of Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge and head for a hot air balloon ride. You will be driven to meet the guides at Kasenyi gate in Queen Elizabeth Park where they will brief you. As the crew prepares, you will have a cup of coffee to warm you up.
Hot air balloon ride takes 3 to 4 hours and after it, you will have a glass of champagne for celebration and then bush breakfast for a memorable ending of your safari.
After this, your driver will take to the wheel and you will proceed to Kampala, have lunch along the way in Masaka, and your tour will have come to an end.
