OVERVIEW OF QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.

Queen Elizabeth national park is in the western region of Uganda. It covers over 1978 km2 of land with over 95 species of mammals and 600 species of birds. Queen Elizabeth national park together with Virunga encircles lake Edward which is connected to lake George by the Kazinga channel. The park is known for its abundant wildlife including the African elephant, African buffalo, Ugandan kob, hippopotamus, topi, waterbuck, warthogs, giant forest hog, Nile crocodile and so many others. This park is popularly known for the tree climbing lions at the Ishasha sector and other animals in the big five except the rhinoceros.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Details

Our company vehicle will be in Bushenyi by 9:00am to pick you up and transfer you to Kasese town. You will check in at Uhuru 50 hotel and campsite where you will have lunch and thereafter proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel where you will see both aquatic life and the other animals along the banks as you view the beautiful scenery of Queen Elizabeth national park. You will have dinner at the Uhuru hotel and a sleep over.
You will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast at the hotel dining area and then go for an early morning game drive where you will encounter different wildlife for example elephants, giraffes, buffalos, oribi and so many others. You will have lunch and later in the evening go for lion tracking in the Ishasha sector and get a chance to see the famous tree climbing lions. After that,  you will go back to the hotel for dinner and sleep.
You will have breakfast early in the morning and go to Kyambura gorge where you will do a 3 to 4 hours chimpanzee trek. You will have lunch and go to Maramagambo bat caves where you will see bats which are housed by these caves and get a chance to reach the heart of Maramagambo forest as you encounter other primates like chimpanzees and different monkey species. You will be transferred back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Wake up for breakfast and check out of the hotel. You will then be taken to the twin lakes and see their beautiful view and have photography moments. You will then proceed to Kichwamba Escarpment community Initiative for a community walk and engage in community activities like local beer brewing and tasting, bee keeping and local cultural dances. You will be transferred back to Bushenyi.
