Experience the breathtaking views of the Rift Valley surrounded by fascinating cliffs, lakes and arid plains as you head to Nakuru. Lake Nakuru National Park is home to almost everything any wildlife enthusiast could wish for other than the elephant. Besides being one of Kenya’s white and black rhino sanctuaries, you are guaranteed to spot the elusive leopard and several prides of lions. Proceed to Masai Mara, home to the great wildebeest migration and Africa’s best wildlife destination.
Day 1:
You will be picked up by one of our driver-guides at your Nairobi hotel or the airport in a customized safari Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof. Head through the Rift Valley, enjoying the fascinating views of the escarpment on your way to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will arrive at The Cliff located inside the park in the mid-morning. Check in and relax by the infinity pool with a cold drink just before lunch and/or have a soothing massage (at your own cost). At 4 pm, head out for a game-viewing drive around the park. The park is home to one of the most remarkable bird populations. You are also guaranteed to see white rhinos, African buffalos, Rothschild’s giraffes, zebras, impalas, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, waterbucks, and a variety of waterbirds like yellow-billed pelic
Day 2:
Wake up to an early morning game-viewing and bird-watching drive around the park. Return to the camp for breakfast after which you drive west past Mount Longonot through Narok to the Masai Mara National Reserve. You will arrive in time for lunch. Settle into your tent and enjoy lunch while looking at the Masai Mara Reserve. At around 4 pm, you will meet your guide for your afternoon game drive. As the temperature cools in the late afternoon, the predators of the Mara start preparing for the evening hunt. During your afternoon game drive, you will witness how the constant battle for survival makes the migration season a particularly exhilarating time to visit the Masai Mara. As the sun sets, you will return to camp for dinner, followed by stargazing and storytime around the fireplace. When you’re ready, one of the Maasai night guards (known as Askaris) will escort you back to your tent for your overnight stay.
Day 3:
Awake to the magnificent “wake up call” symphony of Masai Mara’s astonishing birdlife. Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast before embarking on a full-day safari in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Abundant wildlife on the savannah gives fantastic photo opportunities. The incredible backdrop of clear blues and the rolling savannah will captivate you and provide you with memories to last a lifetime. Catch the action at the crossing point and stalk the herds just like the lions and the cheetahs, capturing them with your lens and in your heart, for there is never a dull moment in the savannah. Return to the camp at sunset for dinner, followed by relaxation at the campfire as you tell of your experiences in the African wilderness. Later, have dinner and overnight.
Day 4:
Wake up at dawn – in time for a final morning game drive. Witness how the savannah comes alive as the sun rises. Return for breakfast whereafter you collect your things and say your goodbyes. Just like the wildebeest, the time has come to wander on. Leave the Masai Mara after breakfast, traverse the vast plains of Maasai land on the floor of Rift Valley, and keep an eye out for herds of giraffes and gazelles as you head up the Mau escarpment. You will arrive in Nairobi in the early afternoon.
